# ERM-1003

> This email's recipient address is invalid

## What happened

The "To" address in your forward action didn't produce a valid email address.

## Common causes

* A typo in the "To" address (e.g. `replies@` with no domain).
* The "To" field uses a template variable that was empty for this reply (e.g. the contact's owner email wasn't set).

## How to fix

Check the "To" field of the forward action. If it uses a variable, make sure that variable always has a value, or add a fallback address.
