# API and Webhooks

> Authenticate against allGood, call the API, and subscribe to webhooks.

This section is for developers building against allGood rather than using the app. It covers how to authenticate, what the API exposes, and how to receive webhooks when something changes.

Authentication comes in two forms — an **API key**, and an **OAuth app** for software acting on behalf of a user. They are at different stages of readiness; the Authentication page says which to use today.
