Every motion is one of a fixed set of types. The type decides the shape: who enters, what gets sent and when, what counts as converting, and what ends it. You pick the type, then supply the content and the audience. You never draw the flow.

The types

More types are in development. If the picker in your account shows a type that is not on this page, it can be authored and reviewed but not yet launched.

What every type has in common

Read across the types and the same four groups of settings appear every time.
  • Who’s in it. How people enter, and what makes someone eligible.
  • What it sends, and when. The touches, with defaults that are good without tuning.
  • What varies. The words, per segment or locale, without changing the flow.
  • What ends it. Converted, handed to sales, gone quiet, unsubscribed.
And four things are always somebody else’s job, in every type: frequency across motions, scoring, routing, and who is eligible in the first place. Those live in policies and the send layer. See Orchestration.

Two guarantees that come with the type

Stop when they convert. The moment someone does the thing the motion exists for, every remaining touch is cancelled. Nobody authors a suppression rule for this. It is how every type is built. Timing is per person, from their own moment. A follow-up two days after conversion means two days after that person converted, not two days after a batch ran. Types built around a shared date, a webinar or a show, time their run-up from the date and their follow-up from each person.

Good to know

  • Broadcast is the escape hatch. A one-off email to a list does not need a landing page or a follow-up arc, and now it does not need to leave the platform either.
  • If what you want does not fit a type’s settings, it is either a setting we are missing or a different type. It is never a custom flow. Tell support which.
