An email template is a reusable email design plus a list of the words each new email needs to supply. It arranges your components into a layout and names the copy a marketer fills in. If you are coming from Marketo, think of it as the pre-baked email in a program template, not a Marketo email template. It is the middle layer of email: components are the pieces, the template is the arrangement, and an email is a finished message built from it.
