You can change a published template whenever you need to. allGood keeps track of what the change reaches, and nothing goes live until you publish it.

Emails you already made stay as they are

An email is self-contained. It carries its own design and copy, plus a record of which template it came from. A template change shows up in the next email you make from it, not in emails already built.

When a template shows as out of date

When you publish a template, allGood locks in the brand guideline and component library it was built from. If either changes afterward, the template shows as out of date. Out of date doesn’t mean broken. It means the template was published against an earlier brand or library. Review it against the new versions, then publish it again to lock those in.

Make a change

  1. Open the template and edit it the same way you created it.
  2. Check the preview and the copy schema. If you rename or remove a field, everyone using the template sees the new list.
  3. Publish it. Saving creates a draft version, and the last published version stays in use until the new one is published.
To change the template’s code by hand, open the template and select Edit Source under Author. It works the same way as it does for an email: check, preview, then Save or Save and publish. See Editing an email’s code. When this works, the template shows your new version with a Published status. See Publishing and versions for how versions and rollback work.
