The allGood ERM MCP server connects the AI apps you already use, like Claude Desktop and ChatGPT desktop, to Email Reply Management (ERM). Once connected, you can ask the assistant to review your categories, build out your Test Suite, run it, find out why replies are being misclassified, and prepare fixes in a draft. You do all of it from one chat window.

What is MCP, and what does connecting it actually do?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an assistant you already use ask allGood questions and make specific, named changes for you. You no longer have to click through the ERM screens yourself to improve accuracy. Connecting it doesn’t hand the assistant a blank check:
  • It never touches live mail handling. The assistant can only edit a draft copy of your configuration. Publishing a draft is always a manual step you take in the allGood web app. There is no tool that publishes.
  • It can’t delete anything. It can create and edit test cases, but it can’t remove them, and it can’t remove or archive a configuration.
  • It only does what your role allows. Looking things up needs View reply management. Making changes needs Manage reply management.
You can also set each tool to run automatically, ask you first, or stay off. Admins can set this for the whole workspace. See the ERM MCP FAQ.

What you can do once you’re connected

What data this touches

The ERM tools read and write your ERM configuration (categories, extract fields, and actions) and your Test Suite (example replies and their expected results). They don’t read your live inbox or the Messages list, and they don’t send email to anyone. Test cases are example emails you or the assistant write, or real replies you paste in. Don’t paste anything into a test case that you wouldn’t want stored in your Test Suite. If something isn’t working the way this article describes, see the ERM MCP FAQ or contact allGood support.
